Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Washington Operations, the Executive Director, Air Force Programs will play a key role in leading, developing, and executing the business development strategy for Textrons Air Force Programs. This executive will support the companys expansion of both domestic and international US Air Force programs. Stakeholders will primarily be based in the Washington, DC area, to include officials and acquisition executives in the US Department of the Air Force, as well as the Office of the Secretary of Defense. However, given the global nature of the role, stakeholders will also include the international equivalents of allied nations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements strategies for acquiring, maintaining, and increasing support within the Department of the Air Force for the corporations aerospace products.
Responsible for developing and maintaining positive relations with key US Air Force and Department of Defense officials.
Works with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely and accurate flow of program data and coordinated pursuit of company goals. Remains abreast of government requirements and advises divisions of potential business development opportunities.
Coordinates with Textron legislative personnel to ensure synchronization on all levels to search out new business opportunities and maximizes ongoing programs, satisfying US Government requirements while enhancing corporate capabilities to best support the interest of the corporation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences required; Masters degree preferred.
20 years of relevant leadership experience gained either in another A&D company or through leadership experience gained within the US Air Force.
Successful track record of working across a large and complex organization, to include effectively working with executives at all levels.
Access, established relationships, and credibility with stakeholders at the highest level of the US Air Force and US Department of Defense.
Demonstrated understanding of the DoD and US Air Force acquisition and budget process.
Proven ability to communicate and present technical briefings to senior government officials.
Active US Security Clearance.
