Job Description
Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.
As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Team Description:
The Oracle Communications 5G Cloud Native Core Platform Qualification Team is a part of the product development organization. The team qualifies the 5G Cloud Native Core product on a variety of Oracle and non-Oracle cloud platforms by designing, implementing, and performing functional tests, integration tests, regression tests, fault-insertion tests, performance tests, cloud-readiness tests, and end-to-end-solution tests. The team works with a variety of 5G Cloud Native Core stakeholders, including Product Strategy, Product Management, System Architecture, Development, Consulting, and Product Support to understand product requirements, deployment environments, and use case scenarios important to the 5G Cloud Native Core product.
Position Description:
This is a technical, hands-on, position at Oracle focused on enabling product development teams to select and use automation frameworks to achieve the goal of continuous deployment (CD) and continuous operations of the 5G Cloud Native Core product on a range of Oracle and non-Oracle Kubernetes-based cloud environments. A successful candidate is an automation specialist with years of product testing experience, is results driven, and is passionate about delivering great quality products and solutions. An ideal candidate loves to learn new technologies and methods, has good analytical problem solving skills, and is good at collaborating with a variety of roles and with team members spread across the world.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to improve quality of Oracle Communications products and services.
- Develop and maintain manual and automated test scripts and test results using provided business requirements, functional and technical designs, and released product artifacts.
- Coordinate testing project management by contributing task definitions and effort estimates for testing project plans and preparing progress reports
- Participate in defect and issue resolution process
- Participate in the definition, design, and implementation of testing automation solutions, working agreements, and procedures
- Contribute to the selection, validation and implementation of automation, monitoring, and testing technologies
- Perform project tasks and solve problems with little or no assistance and guidance
- Serve as a mentor for one or more less-experienced staff members
- Embrace continuous learning, and be willing to experiment and apply new, cutting-edge technology and software paradigms
- Strive to achieve a deep understanding of technology and standards, actively stay abreast of trends and standards, recommend best practices and share learning
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience relevant to software product qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of software engineering, quality assurance, quality control or related experience .
- With 2 to 3 years creating and maintaining Automation Scripts and Test Suites
- With 1 to 2 years of automation framework design, development or related experience
- Exposure to HTTP, XML, and RESTful Web services.
- Familiarity with Linux environments for system-under-test and as host for test and automation tools
- Familiarity with basic IP networking
- Familiarity with basic virtualization technologies and exposure to at least one VM environment, such as OpenStack/KVM or VMware.
- Familiarity with cloud native environments hosting containerized applications
- Ability to dive-in and learn complex systems
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Good analytical skills
- Good written and oral communication skills – emphasis is test status, test plans, test results, test procedures
- An ideal candidate has working experience of testing complex solutions in Kubernetes environments using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Kibana, and Jaegar.
- An ideal candidate has working experience testing applications that use microservice based architecture.
- An ideal candidate has experience testing mobile core network software (e.g. 3G, 4G, or 5G) and has exposure to telecommunications standards, such as IEFT and 3GPP.
