Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for conceptualization and undertaking basic mechanical design for Static equipment / Pressure vessels, as required for various projects, qualifying process requirements and complying applicable Codes & Standards, in most cost effective manner.
- Conceptualization and Undertaking Design Calculations & Basic Design for process & pressure vessels, storage tanks, technological structures etc. in cost effective manner.
- Review of in-house prepared detailed mechanical design (fabrication) drawings, Bill of Material
- Approval of GA and detailed fabrication drawings prepared by Sub-Suppliers
- Application of LINDE standards and customer/consultant standards in mechanical design
- Application of statutory rules & regulations in mechanical design.
- Keeping updated knowledge of Engineering Codes & Standards and Statutory Compliances
- Compliance to Engineering and Industrial Safety Standards in mechanical design
- Coordination with Project / Construction / Fabricators / Vendors for resolution of technical issues during execution
- Obtaining statutory approvals of mechanical design from PESO(Chief Controller of Explosives) where applicable
- Participation in technical review meeting with Design Appraisers / Engineering Consultants / Clients
Desired Candidate Profile
- In-depth Technical Knowledge in mechanical design for process & pressure vessels / storage tanks / technological structure etc. in ASU and Non-ASU projects
- Effective Communication skills
- Working in Team and in Collaborating
- Updated Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME, ANSI, PD 5500, API 620, EN 13445 etc.
- Proficiency in usage of software design tools such as PVElite, AutoCAD. PDS / PDMS
- Updated knowledge on Statutory rules & regulation required for mechanical design & Industrial Safety
- Ability to deliver against strict deadlines & given cost
Engineering Degree in Mechanical with minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field.
