The Piping Design & Engineering group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on engineering and/or design, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for success. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with clients organization and others disciplines in our taskforce is essential.
In these projects the Piping design team is responsible for the routing of pipe systems, and the complete lay-out of the plant. E.g. Equipment locations, locations of new structures and platforms.
Fluors target industries are Oil & GAS, Chemicals, Renewable Energy solutions, life science and advanced manufacturing.
They work within a task force for the realization of multi-discipline projects in close cooperation with vendors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.

As a Mid-Level Piping Stress Engineer you will be, under general supervision, performing and checking calculations and design related to Pipe Stress.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare preliminary pipe stress analysis and calculations
Prepare preliminary manual/computer line stress calculations (including thermal, dead weight, loop, etc.) with modeling, loading calculations and summaries of piping systems
Perform stress and flexibility analysis of moderately complex systems using pipe stress analysis software and
with conclusive results regarding suitability of the design
Perform pipe stress analysis for different equipment like Steam turbine, Compressors, Centrifugal pumps, tanks,
exchangers, heaters, columns, Air coolers, etc.
Perform pipe support design details and strength calculations
Perform stress analysis for UG piping & Non metallic piping (GRP, HDPE, etc.)
Evaluation of local stress WRC107/297 and NozzlePro
Perform AIV /FIV assessment and vibration analysis
Perform dynamic analysis (Modal analysis, Time history, Water Hammer/Slug Flow)
Develop data sheets for spring hangers and other engineered pipe supports
Prepare technical attachments for RFQs and POs for engineered supports and support procurement activities,
planning and timely delivery of these items
Prepare piping stress log to visualize the pipe stress engineering scope of work
Actively perform change management and scope control
Perform quality checks of analyzed pipe stress systems and deliverables from others
Plan and coordinate pipe stress related activities with work-sharing office
Plan and coordinate the delivery of required documents with engineered pipe support suppliers
Plan and coordinate the delivery of required documents/files with the Notified Body
Work independently and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
Work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities
Write/review specifications
Prepare and perform schedules, estimates, progress reports, material forecasts, meetings, procurement
activities, etc.
Assist in audits
Assist, as required, in the development of department standards and procedures
Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs
Actively participate in, promote, and maximize the use of, Fluors Knowledge Community and other available
resources
Support the Discipline Excellence Leader on assignments, as required
Perform squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals
Actively participate in external technical seminars and self-enroll in advance management training courses
Develop client relations
Focus on performance development input and counseling

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
Basic Job Requirements
Bachelor or masters degree in engineering
14 years and above of work-related experience in a similar role as Piping Stress engineer
Knowledge of piping components, commercial availability, and cost of materials
Good knowledge with piping codes and standards
Working knowledge of and ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), line lists, plot plans,
isometrics, pipe classes and other discipline drawings and vendor equipment documentation
Knowledge of work processes and technical specifications of stress and/or material engineering operations
Intermediate knowledge of:
o Stress/strain theories as applied to strength of materials
o Requirements outlined in the piping flexibility, support element, expansion joint and shock arrestor specifications
o Piping engineering software (Auto Pipe, CAESAR II, Ple4Win, etc.)
o Able to provide effective layout and pipe support solutions for greenfield and brownfield (revamp) piping
systems
Fluent in English both verbal and written. German and/or Dutch are an advantage
Flexible and willing to travel and to stay temporary at other office/ site locations
Preferred candidates live in Europe
Experience with Scrum, Lean, Agile Methodologies or willingness to learn in practice
