What you'll do at Position Summary...
What you'll do... Educates patients on oral hygiene, oral health, oral disease, and available dental procedures and services; screening and assessing oral health conditions for and recall patients; verifying patient health history (for example, reviewing basic health status, medications) and documenting in the patient's chart.
Performs clinical hygiene functions according to applicable scope-of-practice laws and regulations (for example, exposing and evaluating diagnostic radiographs, taking and recording blood pressure, evaluating adult/child prophylaxis; performing non-surgical periodontal therapy, co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the doctor); completing periodontal charting.
Presents hygiene treatment plans to patients; educating patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain optimal oral health (for example, toothbrushing, flossing, nutritional counseling).
Preparing patient chart entries; ordering and maintaining oral hygiene supplies and deliverable products for the office; and cleaning and preparing operatory per OSHA and CDC guidelines prior to patient appointments.
Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Current state Dental hygiene license and local anesthesia permit required
2 years experience as a Dental Hygienist or 5 years experience as a Dental Assistant.
Current Basic Life Support cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification required
