Job Description
Reporting and Working Relationships:
- reports to the Mechanical Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS).
- works in close coordination with other Mechanical Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in other offices, nominated for project execution activities.
- provides oversight and advise to the Designers on aspects related to Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, especially interface and tie-in points.
- have working relationship and coordination with all other disciplines and all other entities within the Project execution team to ensure cross-functional alignment.
Essential Duties (Scope):
- This role will help in the development, review, and finalization of critical project deliverables like Design calculations like flow and pressure-drop calculations for system distribution and collection mains using software applications like Pipe-flo, Flow diagrams for piping systems, Data sheets, Project specifications, Material and Service Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, System Descriptions, Contract Package Scope Dictionaries, Line Lists, Valve Lists, and any other Study / Report / Diagram required during project execution activities, as an example, system zoning and mapping diagrams, including, but not limited to, lateral service areas for corresponding tools or bays, for Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- The person shall engage with a cross-discipline and cross-functional team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Designers / 3D-Modelers, SMEs including Project Engineers, Owner representatives, Construction representatives and other stakeholders in other functions like Quality, ES&H, Procurement and Project Controls.
The key objectives for this role are to:
- Complete, on behalf of the Mechanical EGS, the deliverables (as explained above) for selected and prioritized Mechanical equipment and packages.
- Work with the Mechanical EGS to assist in providing technical inputs and Mechanical engineering requirements for other commodity design and engineering activities, e.g. structural steel, concrete, piping, electrical equipment and instrumentation.
- Work with the Designers to assist in assuring conformance to Owner requirements in the design and development of P&IDs and PFDs.
- Work with Vendors / Sub-contractors to review their data and information for completeness and correctness.
- Participate in training sessions related to use of new tools and applications.
